Boneless Meat (lbs) to Carcass (kg)
Need to audit an international butcher's yield? This complex tool reverse-engineers the 70% deboning rule and applies a metric conversion. Input the final weight of the freezer-ready meat in pounds (lbs) to instantly calculate what the hanging carcass weight was in kilograms (kg). The multiplier is 0.648.
Two-Step Mathematical Reversal
Going backward from an imperial meat box to a metric hanging carcass requires two transformations.
Step A: Reverse Deboning
Because meat represents 70% of the carcass, we divide the meat pounds by 0.70 to find the total carcass pounds.
Step B: Metric Shift
We then divide that imperial hanging weight by 2.20462 to find the metric hanging weight in kilograms.
The Combined Multiplier
(1 ÷ 0.70) ÷ 2.20462 = 0.648
About this
