When scaling down from a massive bulk weight (pounds) to a tiny metric weight (grams), while simultaneously reducing an enormous land area (acre) down to just a single square meter, the algorithm calculates a massive reduction.

Step 1: Mass Increase (Grams)

First, the pounds are converted to grams. One pound equals exactly 453.592 grams. So, 1 lb applied over the entire acre becomes 453.592 grams applied over that acre.

Step 2: Area Extreme Decrease

Next, that entire acre is shrunk down. One standard US acre contains exactly 4,046.86 square meters. We divide the total grams by 4,046.86 to find the concentration in just one single square meter.

The Final Formula

453.592 ÷ 4046.86 = 0.11208

Multiplying your lbs/acre rate by 0.11208 gives you the exact gram weight you need for a single square meter plot.
